Anne-Elise Smithson: Where do you put yourself in the view of the community?

You’ll see me at some start-up environmental group meetings: a stream care group in Albany, and a newly-formed kauri protection society in Northcote. Auckland does risk losing all its kauri, so it’s great to be part of a team of passionate people who are doing our best to protect our kauri from dieback disease. Many of the groups I am part of are new, and are on the rise locally.
Other than that, you’ll see me at fundraisers, local events, and various community meetings.
Can I make a shameless plug right now? I’m going to a Quiz Night Fundraiser for the Long Bay-Okura Great Park Society on 27 June at 7:30pm, The Bays Club, Browns Bay.
There will be a professional quiz master / comedian and it will be a fun night. All welcome. Tickets are $25/person, and the funds raised will help the Long Bay-Okura Great Park Society protect and enhance our important land and sea reserves for future generations.
